I was given 2 invites for this season’s premier held at the Cinema 5 of Greenbelt 3 last October 18, 2007. Being a hardcore fan that I am, I scrolled through my mobile phone’s contact numbers exuberantly to see who I can tag along. I saw my cousin’s name and realized he hasn’t started watching season 2 – best candidate, so I called him.
“That’s so cool! But you’ve seen it already. Why would you still go?” he said.
“I’m the biggest fan. I ran a fan group, remember? I don’t mind watching it again.” I replied. The next thing I knew he was picking me from home.
A few girls went over to Peter’s panel for picture-taking. Some of them even went as far as caressing Peter’s chest and smiling coyly in front of the camera. Hats off to them for being game.
The program started with a deejay from Monster Radio RX 93.1 hosting the game. Heroes-related questions were given and 10 winners got their own goody bag which had Heroes comics (not the 9th Wonder comic book, too bad) and the Vote Petrelli button pins. I intentionally did not join the contest, even if the questions were really, really easy because I prefer the autographed comic books! (I am so joining the Auction thing at the con, hehe)
Shortly after, the airing of season 2 pilot episode began. It kinda felt weird that moment and the weirdness went away when I heard the familiar narration along with the familiar faces on the screen. New faces were shown too, which added more excitement. The only part I didn’t like was how they showed it. The screen was pixilated. It was not the typical ones that you see in movies/films.
There were a few reactions from the audience (giggles and so) and when I turned around to see, my face almost froze. Lots of empty seats, about 50 of them. If I had a way, I could’ve dragged my members, it could’ve been a much successful event with most of the geeks cheering and simply just enjoying their favorite TV show.
It was a joy to see that my favorite characters have made it to the second season. I am particularly interested in Peter’s new life, Hiro’s journey in feudal Japan and Molly’s struggles with the nightmare man. Who is he?! (Okay, I’m pretending I haven’t watched episode 4 haha)
My verdict for the whole event: 3 out of 5 stars.
wow... how i wish i was able to watch the season premiere.. kahit napanood ko na... hehehe... it must really be very exciting... lol.
ReplyDeleteSO ENVY =<...
ReplyDeleteit's so unfair, i would have wanted to be there and still fifty people decided to ditch the event and go elsewhere. hehe, as if i had a chance to go there anyway, i wouldn't even know where to grab an invite. :D
